The Toros de Tijuana suffered another consecutive loss tonight on the road against the Acereros de Monclova, marking the second series sweep they’ve suffered under the same conditions. With this result, the Toros not only lose their position as third place in the North Division standings, but they are directly replaced by Monclova.

Second Game Highlights

A solid debut from Matt Solter was not enough to secure the win. After pitching five strong innings and allowing only one run, the Tijuana bullpen was unable to hold the lead and ultimately fell short. The second game ended in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the ninth, when second baseman Juan Mora hit a walk-off home run that gave Monclova the win with a final score of 5–4.

Third Game Highlights

The third and final game of the series was shortened to seven innings. Wilmer Ríos pitched the entire game for Monclova, delivering a complete performance. Tijuana’s offense was unable to generate any serious threats, and the game concluded with a final score of 4–2 in favor of Monclova. After another disappointing showing, the Toros have now lost two consecutive series since returning to face teams from the North. As a result, they drop to fifth place in the division standings.
