Matchday 5 of the Apertura 2025 delivered one of those unforgettable nights. Querétaro and Atlas drew 3-3 at Estadio La Corregidora in a game full of drama that was decided in the dying moments.

Atlas seemed to have everything under control. Gustavo Del Prete opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute, and in the second half the Rojinegros extended their lead with goals from Uroš Đurđević in the 69th and Adrián Mora in the 76th. With a 3-0 scoreline, victory looked sealed for the visiting side, who were also celebrating the return of Diego Cocca, the two-time champion coach back on the bench three years after his historic stint.

But football once again proved that nothing is written until the final whistle. Querétaro pulled one back through Pablo Barrera in the 58th minute, though it still seemed insufficient against Atlas’ dominance. Then came the miracle in stoppage time. Rodrigo Bogarín scored in the 94th minute to ignite hope for the Gallos, and just moments later, Lucas Rodríguez struck in the 98th minute to complete the stunning comeback and send the stadium into chaos.

The result feels like a victory for Querétaro, who showed character and pride by refusing to surrender when everything looked lost. For Atlas, however, it was a bitter blow: from having three points in the bag to walking away with a painful draw, exposing defensive frailties that Cocca must address immediately if the team hopes to regain its competitive edge in the tournament.

Apertura 2025 keeps delivering thrilling stories, and the 3-3 between Gallos and Rojinegros will surely go down as one of the most exciting matches of the season.
