Raiders Shock Foxborough: 20-13 Win Over Patriots in Season Opener.

With a touchdown pass from Geno Smith and a key run by Jeanty, the Raiders defeated the Patriots 20-13 in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.

At Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium, packed with 64,628 fans, the Las Vegas Raiders opened the season with an important victory over the New England Patriots, 20-13. The scoreboard opened in the first quarter with a 26-yard pass from Geno Smith to Tre Tucker (12:17), and the Patriots answered before halftime with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye to DeMario Douglas, tying the game 7-7 before the end of the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Ashton Jeanty stepped up as the hero with a 3-yard touchdown run (9:39), and shortly after, Daniel Carlson extended the lead with a 51-yard field goal.

The fourth quarter was more conservative, with both teams adding only one field goal each, sealing the 20-13 final score in favor of the Raiders.

Geno Smith stood out with a strong performance: completing 24 of 34 passes for 362 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. For the Patriots, Drake Maye went 30 of 46 for 287 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.

On the ground, Ashton Jeanty recorded 19 carries for 38 yards and 1 TD, while New England’s TreVeyon Henderson added 27 yards on 5 carries.

In the air, Brock Bowers was key with 5 receptions for 103 yards, while Kayshon Boutte also totaled 103 yards on 6 catches. In the final balance, the Raiders led in total yards (389 vs. 336), but ball control was nearly even, with each team holding possession for close to 30 minutes.
