oday we woke up to the shocking news that Christian Horner is out at Red Bull. We are witnessing the team gradually losing key figures such as Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, Sergio Pérez, and now Christian Horner. These decisions have clearly impacted the team’s performance. Victories are becoming increasingly rare. This ship is sinking.

What adds to the drama is the ongoing rumor linking Max Verstappen to Mercedes. The fact that Toto Wolff has been so vocal about wanting Max in his team fuels the fire. For now, it is all speculation, but a perfect storm seems to be forming. What is tying Max to Mercedes? The most dominant car disappeared two years ago. Could he actually leave? A Verstappen-Mercedes association seems plausible and beneficial for both sides.

Toto is playing 4D chess and with George Russell still without a contract renewal, it raises questions. Suspicious? Definitely. But let’s not forget the backstory behind all of this.

The Second Driver Problem

Max Verstappen has proven to be a guarantee of success, and his championships speak for themselves. Christian Horner has been with the team for over 20 years and delivered two dominant eras, first with Sebastian Vettel, then with Max Verstappen. But what has consistently been a challenge is finding a reliable second driver.

Here’s the lineup over the years:

🏎️ Pierre Gasly
🏎️ Alexander Albon
🏎️ Sergio "Checo" Pérez
🏎️ Liam Lawson
🏎️ Yuki Tsunoda

These choices reflect Horner’s decision-making when it comes to teammates, but none have fully delivered. And we must also remember the controversies surrounding Horner in recent years.

From exceeding the F1 budget cap (blamed on catering services) to allegations of harassment by a Red Bull employee, and the reported internal conflict between Horner and Jos Verstappen, it has been anything but smooth sailing.

Everything feels rushed. Our sources tell us that you, Christian, and I all found out at the same time — when Formula 1 itself posted the Breaking News. It is important to note that Red Bull did not break the story, F1 did.

Something feels very off. And right now, anything feels possible.
