San Diego FC confirmed their strength once again with a 1–0 home win over Nashville SC, reclaiming the top spot in the Western Conference. Chucky Lozano scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minute following a play built by Tverskov and Dreyer. The Finnish winger extended his league-leading assist total to 16 this season. The victory also ended a three-match winless run at home and brought SDFC to 46 points in 25 matches, keeping them first in the West.

San Diego controlled the match with 56 percent possession compared to Nashville’s 44. The team completed 609 passes to Nashville’s 408 and created more attacking presence, although both sides finished with four shots on target. Goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega recorded his first clean sheet of the year with four key saves, including a penalty stop in the 83rd minute. Dreyer found the net again in stoppage time, but the goal was disallowed because the referee had blown the final whistle before the ball crossed the line.

Nashville came out with energy but lacked attacking clarity. Neither Sam Surridge, Hany Mukhtar, nor Andy Najar were able to break down San Diego’s defensive shape. Their only clear attempt on goal was stopped with confidence by Sisniega. This was just their second defeat in the last 19 matches, showing the level of challenge that San Diego presented on the night.

The result comes at the right time for Mikey Varas and his squad, who now prepare for their Leagues Cup debut against Pachuca. That match will mark a special reunion for Chucky Lozano with his former club. The team looks compact, confident, and determined to close the season strong.
