The night in Tijuana was a red-and-black celebration. Club Tijuana claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Necaxa at the Estadio Caliente, earning three points that keep them in the fight for a Liguilla spot.
Necaxa started the match determined to set the tone, but the turning point came in the 14th minute when a Rojos player was sent off after a reckless challenge from behind on Mora. From that moment, the match tilted completely in favor of Xolos.
In the 41st minute, Frank Boya opened the scoring with a shot off the post that found its way into the net. Just after halftime, in the 51st minute, Boya struck again with a header following a precise cross from the right flank to make it 2-0. Necaxa attempted to respond, but in the 57th minute they were reduced to nine men after another red card for dissent toward the referee.
The numerical advantage was capitalized on by Tijuana, who sealed the rout in the 85th minute with a well-taken penalty by Adonis Preciado.
The night also featured a debut: K. Escamilla, arriving from Querétaro, played his first minutes in a Xolos jersey, though he was met with boos from the home crowd. In total, 17,233 fans attended, celebrating a victory that strengthens Miguel Herrera’s side.
Beyond the scoreline, Xolos displayed defensive discipline and an attack that took full advantage of key moments, while Necaxa crumbled under red cards and the hostile atmosphere at the Caliente.
