Action returned to Estadio Caliente for the team’s final preseason match, with Xolos preparing to face Querétaro’s Gallos Blancos on Friday, July 11 in Matchday 1 of the Liga MX. This will also be the league debut of head coach Sebastián “Loco” Abreu, a legendary figure in South American football. His impact was felt both on the pitch and in the press room, where he displayed humor, leadership, and experience. "La Pantera," the top scorer from last season, showed once again that he’s ready to score this tournament too.

The match was free to attend, and fans showed up in full force at the biggest doghouse in the world. The first goal came from a Herediano free kick, a well-executed play that narrowly got past the “Pirata de Chapala” and stood out as the technical highlight of the night. Xolos responded through Zúñiga, who equalized with a penalty thanks to his strong goal-scoring instinct.

The score remained tied until a decisive moment arrived. Another penalty was awarded, but this time with a surprise taker. The opportunity to take the lead was missed. Still, Xolos kept pushing forward and Poroso found the net to make it 2–1.

The tournament officially begins on Friday, July 11. For Xolos Femenil, the season starts at home on Thursday, July 24.
See you at the next match.
