At the Estadio Hidalgo, Club Tijuana wrote a historic chapter by defeating Pachuca 2-0 and securing their first-ever away victory at that stadium. Since their promotion in 2011, Xolos had finally managed to win on the road against every team in the league.
The star of the team continues to be Gilberto Mora, the 16-year-old sensation, who opened the scoring with a precise header inside the box—remarkable considering his 1.60m height. A goal that not only paved the way for victory but also reaffirmed the enormous potential of Tijuana’s brightest young talent.
This triumph highlights the new spark within Tijuana, a team that for years had seen its attempts in Pachuca end in frustration. Under the guidance of “El Loco” Abreu, the squad is steadily embracing the playing identity the coach seeks to project.
With this result, Xolos not only break a historic barrier but also gain crucial momentum in the Apertura 2025, proving they have the tools to compete and surprise in traditionally difficult venues. Winning by two goals and keeping a clean sheet makes this one of their best away performances in recent years. Now the focus shifts quickly, as on Friday, August 22, they return home to face Chivas Guadalajara.
